About Me
My name is Danjeza Danglli, and I am a public sector professional, policy advisor, and community advocate with a passion for public service and building stronger communities.
Eighteen years ago, I immigrated to Canada with a determination to create opportunities through education, hard work, and service to others. On the same date that marked my 18th anniversary in Canada, I officially registered as a candidate for Oshawa City Council in the municipal election taking place on October 26, 2026.
I graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law at South East European University (SEEU). During my studies, I participated in an academic exchange program at McNeese State University in Louisiana, United States. After completing my legal education, I continued my studies in Canada and later earned a degree in Legal Studies from Ontario Tech University's Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, where I was recognized on the Dean's Honour List for my academic achievements.
My professional career has been dedicated to public service, governance, strategic planning, and regulatory affairs. I spent eight years with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), working alongside respected legal and engineering professionals on matters related to public accountability, professional regulation, and governance.
In 2022, I was selected as Policy and Strategic Planning Advisor to Ontario's Advisory Committee on Standards for Voting Technologies, where I also served as a committee member responsible for developing standards on voting technologies for electronic poll books and vote tabulators. Our work helped establish recommendations for the modernization and standardization of election administration across Ontario.
Following significant legislative changes in 2024, I worked closely with municipal clerks across all 444 municipalities in Ontario to support the transition of municipal voters' list administration to Elections Ontario. Through this province-wide initiative, I contributed to the development of a more centralized, accurate, and efficient electoral data system, helping strengthen election readiness ahead of the 2026 municipal elections.
Today, I am proud to work at March of Dimes Canada, one of Canada's leading national charitable organizations, where I am contributing to a major operational rebrand and revitalization initiative that will be launched this fall as part of the organization's 75th anniversary celebrations.
Alongside my professional career, I have remained engaged in local initiatives and volunteerism. I currently serve as Chair of the School Community Council at Jean Sauvé Public School and have previously volunteered with organizations such as Luke's Place, Habitat for Humanity Durham, and the Durham Rape Crisis Centre. These experiences have shaped my understanding of the challenges many residents face and reinforced my commitment to making a positive difference through service and leadership.
Throughout my career, I have believed that effective leadership begins with listening, collaboration, accountability, and respect. I am running for Oshawa City Council because Ward 1 deserves a strong advocate focused on responsible growth, housing affordability, improved infrastructure, safer neighbourhoods, reliable transit, and the continued revitalization of our waterfront and surrounding communities. My goal is to help build a stronger, more inclusive, and more prosperous Oshawa while ensuring that every resident has a voice in the decisions that shape our city's future.
